SHAHEEN BAGH in the CROSSHAIRS

India is going through its darkest phase since the century turned with a new Citizenship Law that many people fear is the beginning of a push towards a Hindu nation, instead of the secular republic guaranteed in its Constitution. Shaheen Bagh and more specifically the women of Shaheen Bagh have been sitting on a peaceful protest against this new law or CAA as it is known. I was curious about the protests in this small locality of the national capital so I went there on January 5, 2020. What I found there was hope-giving yet at the same time it was a chilling reminder of what a government with evil on its mind can do
